Elizabeth trains riders and horses in the disciplines of dressage and eventing. Her qualifications include twenty years of riding experience and eighteen years of competition. Dressage and eventing have always been her favored riding disciplines. In horse trials she has competed successfully from the levels of elementary to preliminary. In dressage, she has competed through the Prix St. George championships and schooled theGrand Prix movements.
At age twenty-two, she competed her thoroughbred, Merci at the Prix St.George Region 8 Championships and finished sixth overall. He also received an award for the highest scoring thoroughbred at the FEI level in the 2004 NEDA fall dressage show. Liz purchased Merci when he was five as an ex-racehorse and they have competed in horse trials starting at novice through preliminary.
Liz has ridden a broad spectrum of horses, beginning with newly backed horses and training them how to jump as well as advanced event horses with Mark Weissbecker and grand prix dressage horses with David Collins. She also studied extensively with Kim Walnes, who spent eight years on the United States Equestrian Team, Mark Weissbecker, an international four star event rider and David Collins, a Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer (the latter two as working students). During her years at York College in Pennsylvania she had the opportunity to study with eventer, Jim Koford and three time olympian, Jessica Ransehousen. In addition, she has ridden in clinics with olympian, Lendon Grey and the FEIjudge, Dr. Volker Moritz.
In these past four years she has focused on dressage with Merci, training the horse from the beginning stages of balance to collection and grand prix movements. This year she will be competing her horse Redeemer at the FEI level in dressage. |
