Raj is the founder of Renwick Capital Management, LLC, and Renwick Real Estate, LLC, and Willow Creek Development Group, LLC. With the exception of Willow Creek Development Group, both LLC's are Manhattan-based Real Estate Development and Equity Finance Companies.
Raj co-founded Renwick Capital Management in 1994 as a specialist in computer-guided trading systems that identify trends in equities and options. He then shifted focus from equities to NYC Real Estate properties in 1996 with the formation of Renwick Real Estate, LLC.
Since inception, Renwick Real Estate, LLC has acquired and developed in excess of $50 million in the NYC Residential Real Estate market primarily located on the Upper West and Upper East side of Manhattan. Now, as Renwick realizes past investments in the New York City area, Raj is focusing on the development of Willow Creek Estates, a 103 acre $40 million dollar project, constructing a private equestrian community located in Southbury, CT. and the development and renovation of a triplex penthouse located off central park in NYC.
From 1999-2001, Raj founded and sold Coolaudio.com, an Internet e-retailer specializing in audio/video sales after identifying the inherent benefits of a “brick and click” strategy with a proposed merger to Manhattan-based retail chain, Harvey Electronics. In addition, through private equity investments, Raj has been an early-stage investor in many successful technology and Internet companies.
As a systems engineer and marketing representative with the IBM Corporation from 1987-1990, Raj developed and marketed proprietary systems for Wall Street investment banking and trading concerns. Prior to his graduate studies from 1990-1994, Raj founded and sold Trading Technologies Corporation, a company specializing in the construction and installation of computer-based quote and trading systems for small funds and brokerage firms.
Raj has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Observer, Bloomberg Personal, India Abroad, Inc. Magazine, Hampton's Magazine, Crains New York Business, The Industry Standard, Silicon India, Entrepreneur's Business Start Ups, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today's Technology Lane, Interactive Media and Marketing, Investment Dealers Digest, The Absolute Sound, Stereophile Magazine, and the Columbia Business School Alumni Magazine. Raj is a 1987 graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Economics, and a 1995 MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. In addition, Raj is an instrument rated pilot, a licensed amateur radio operator, an avid squash player,and
he enjoys fly-fishing. He was born in London England, grew-up in
Northern New Jersey, and resides both in Manhattan and Southbury, CT
with his wife Darcy and sons Remy Alexander and Jesse Taylor. |
